What's on Vladimir Putin's mind these days? Why would he make public intelligence that so openly favors the Bush administration? On Friday, Putin announced that Russia had given the US information that Saddam was preparing terrorist attacks. You would think that the Bushies would trumpet this story to the heavens. But it died on the vine. Even this administration, which will virtually use any scrap of information, including forgeries in support of its ideological ends, won't touch this one. One gets the feeling that Putin is hedging his bets against a Bush victory in November. Um, Vlad? If Saddam was planning terrorist attacks, why did you vote against the invasion? Buyer beware.
